The Little Family. Roan Mountain Tennessee.

We ventured together on crisp fall day to the balds atop Roan Mountain. That place is so special to Jenny. She grew up camping there and her parents still spend a lot of summer days there. We have photographed there several times over the years, but each time and in every season it is a little bit different. This was our first family session at Roan Mountain State Park.

We wandered around the mountain, sharing stories and laughs. Our photography style is very un-posed, allowing for those sweet and genuine moments to just unfold. The Littles were the perfect family, so natural and were an absolutely delight to adventure with.  It is funny how life works, Melanie and Jenny met at a Passion conference back in college and have kept in touch, despite the years.

We have decided to start photographing families more in 2018. We used to be scared of photographing families, I think mainly because we didn’t have children. Now that we have babes, we see the incredible value in capturing these fleeting moments. These raw, unscripted moments take you back to the way your babies giggled at Daddy’s silly faces or hugged Mommy tightly because they were shy. These memories are valuable and worth capturing.
